Changying “Charlie” Li, Ph.D.
Principal Investigator
Dr. Changying “Charlie” Li is a Professor and the PI of the Bio-Sensing Automation and Intelligence Laboratory at the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department of the University of Florida. Prior to joining UF, he was a faculty
member of the University of Georgia for over 15 years. In 2025, he was inducted as an ASABE fellow.
Chenjiao Tan
Postdoctoral Associate
Chenjiao Tan is a Postdoctoral Associate in the BSAIL Lab at the University of Florida. His research interests include computer vision, machine learning and hyperspectral technology. His current research focuses on applying object
detection and multi-object tracking for cotton and blueberry organ counting, as well as 3D phenotyping of cotton and pepper plants.
Daniel Petti
Postdoctoral Associate
Daniel Petti is a postdoctoral associate in the BSAIL Lab at UF. He obtained his B.S. in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2018, and briefly worked in industry before joining the lab in the fall of 2020.
His work mainly concerns applying deep learning techniques to solve computer vision problems in the domain of high-throughput phenotyping. In December of 2025, he completed his PhD at UF and was awarded the best dissertation accolade
from IFAS.
Rui-Feng Wang

Rui-Feng is an Agricultural Robotic Researcher at University of Florida. His current research interests include Automation, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, High-Throughput Plant Phenotyping, Precision Agriculture, and Agricultural Robots.
